Hello friends, welcome to lifekisavari, guys In this article, such great Indian scientists are being introduced, who, like ordinary people, grew up in the midst of conflicts and amazed the world with their inventions. Who, like the animal world, proved the existence of life in the flora(plants)and raised the head of India in front of the world community by discovering millions of years old fossils.Jagdish Chandra Basu or bose
friends Have you ever thought that trees and plants also experience cold, heat, happiness and sorrow like us? You may find this thing surprising, but it is true that plants are also sensitive like us. There is life in them too. They also experience happiness and sorrow. This was first discovered by the great Indian scientist Jagdish Chandra Basu or bose.Jagdish Chandra Basu was born on 30 November 1858 in Faridpur village of Maiman Singh district of Bengal. His father Bhagwan Chandra Basu was the Deputy Magistrate of Faridpur. child jagdish rides on horseIt was very dear to do, to hear thrilling and adventurous stories. At the age of nine, Jagdish left home and went to Kolkata for further studies. At the same time,in his friends community frogs, fishes, squirrels and handed over, he started taking special interest in animals and plants. He uprooted the roots of the plants and observe them and also grew different types of fruit and flower plants.
In his student life, his mind naturally got completely engrossed in the world of plants and trees. He was curious to know whether there is life in plants like us? They worked hard to find out about this. After passing his graduation from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, Basu went to England for further studies. He took special education in physics, chemistry and botany(study of plants) from Christ Church College, University of Cambridge in 1884 and obtained the degree of B.Sc.
On his return to India in 1885, he was appointed as a professor at the Presidency College, Kolkata. There they were told to pay half the salary as compared to the English professors. Basu accepted the post. But in protest refused to take half salary. Eventually the British agreed to pay full salary in view of their ability and hard work. This is an indication of their loyalty and self-respect towards their work. The important research for which Jagdish Chandra Basu will always be remembered was this - life in plants and detection sensitivity.
For this he made a very sensitive instrument called 'crescograph'.With the help of this instrument, the growth of plants and the subtle reactions that occur inplants when any part of them is cut or hurt can be detected. The world was surprised by this discovery of Jagdish Chandra Basu. The British government gave him the title of 'Sir' on this discovery. The great scientist Albert Einstein, enchanted by Professor Basu's research, said, "Any one of the invaluable facts that Jagdish Chandra Basu has presented to the world is enough to hoist his victory flag.
Jagdish Chandra Basu was not only a biologist but also had a deep penetration in the field of physics. wireless The wire was invented by Professor Basu in the true sense because in 1895 it was invented by Marconi.Even before the invention was patented, he had made a successful public demonstration of his wireless wire. The Basu Vigyan Mandir established by him in Kolkata is carrying forward his tradition even today. Atthe inauguration of this institute, he had said – this is a temple, not a laboratory. Till his last breathin the year 1937, he continued to work in this institute with complete dedication to science.
Professor Basu is counted among the world's eminent scientists due to his tireless hard work and research.
He said, we should not depend on others for our work. do one's own thing But before doing all this one should give up one's ego and pride."
